Our keynote speaker this year is Cameroon blogger Dibussi Tande who will inform us about the state of social justice and digital media in Africa, other confirmed speakers are Elia Varela Serra from Maneno, Global Voices editor Eduardo Ávila, Brett Davidson with Ndesanjo Macha (Stop Stock-outs project), Peter Benjamin on Mobile for Mobilisation and mobile for communities entrepreneur Marlon Parker.

The theme of this year’s Digital Citizen Indaba is Digital Civil Society and Journalism in Africa and aims to focus on the complex interaction between mainstream media and civil society. It will also focus on how this interaction could be leveraged to advance civil society activism and enrich journalism on grassroots issues.
