DCI 4.0 Opening Reception: Let’s Boogie!
A last-minute change of venue could not stop the crowds: the Rhodes Great Hall slowly filled up with DCI speakers, participants and sponsors who after the speeches and snacks danced the night away. Zimbabwean poet Ronald Jongwe recited his poem while walking through the crowd and blowing everyone away with his loud voice and clear message: a warm welcome to all! And of course we have photos…
John Capati of the American International Health Alliance and Makana Municipality Mayor Vumile Lwana made this evening a reality and extended their welcome greetings. While journalists and participants made a run for the wine and snacks Zambian singer Lily T. and Botswana’s folklore musician Ntirelang Berman belted out numerous songs, including the popular “Hearts and Minds” song: “change your hearts, change your minds, if we love and care for each other, we will overcome”. When they started to throw mini soccerballs into the crowd the night just got crazier and crazier.
Take a look at some of the photos!
